Many of you may not realize that our hometown titanium wizards, Lynskey Performance, also make bikes for several other companies. We recently came across this hardcore long forked trail hardtail, made for Ragley Bikes of Britain.

J. Pills claims the designer, Brant Richards, is insane… but I am thinking seriously about something like this for the sort of super-technical hiking trail pickery, rock drops and gravel road bombing I do around the homestead.

The brits have some strange ideas regarding what makes a proper hardtail: this thing is made for 130-160mm freeride forks and 2.5″ rubber. It has a slack head angle, an upright seat tube, short stays and a stretched out top tube. Sort of like the old Gary Fisher Genesis geometry taken to the extreme. Maybe if you rode the slimy, rocky trails those limeys ride, you’d understand.

At any rate, this frame is interesting, and it shows the capabilities of Lynskey to build just about anything you can imagine.

Here’s a nice, unbiased review of the Ragley: Ragley Ti on Bike Radar

Our favorite drool-fest of custom cycle creativity is happening in Richmond in late February, and Shimano has signed on as title sponsor of the boutique builders’ big get together.

Do you dream of one day owning a custom bike? Come talk to us and let’s see how we can make your dreams come true. If you see something you like, chances are we can help you assemble something using off-the-shelf production frames and components that will be nearly as nice, though not so personal or spendy.

Or, maybe you’d like a retro ride similar to the new customs… well, we can help there too. We are experts at rebuilding old bikes, repainting, and updating… maybe you have an old faithful steed that you’d like to dress up… maybe add fenders, a Brooks saddle and moustache bars to an old road bike? Or maybe you’d like a fixed gear like all the young hipsters around town? We do that.
