The Ibis Demo Program

it used to suck 1 year, 5 months ago.

UPDATE:
Our bike is here, just as in the picture.  It’s a size large Mojo w/ Ibis’ SRAM X9.0 Kit.  Takes some tinkering to get is set up just right, but when you do it’s great fun.  Feel free to come by & take it for a spin.

Our Mojo waiting to be shipped

Our whole sales model is based upon riding the bikes we sell. To this end we try to buy samples for you & us to try out. Rarely do we take part in some sort of “official” bike company demo program. Those are often programs designed to push products they want to sell, not always the bikes we want to sell.

Ibis, however, has a like mind to us! They just give us a discount on a Mojo to buy & leave it @ that. Currently we’ve one to show you (thank you Martin!). Soon we should have a second. These are really sweet bikes to ride, one of my personal favorites, once you’ve set up the suspension. Plus they really look cool. Honestly, they look like a $10k AIG exec bike not the $$$ figure one they really are.

Check out Ibis’ website, lots of humor & a few insightful comments there. A brand we are proud to showcase.

Jamis Parker Review

it used to suck 2 years, 9 months ago.

Jamis have really stepped it up in the freeride and dirt jump department for 2008. My son and I had the chance to extensively test the Kromo and Parker II at the demo day last week. I must say, I was impressed by both bikes… here’s my reviews. Both of these rigs were designed with input from slopestyle madman Jordie Lunn, and I’m pretty sure he’d feel comfortable doing his wacked out 360 flips and monster gap jumps on these machines.

Both bikes are in the 34-35 pound range, which is not so bad for a dual suspension freerider, but might seem a little hefty for a single-speed dirtjumper.

Jamis Parker 2008Parker

The Parker II is set up as an all-mountain rig that leans heavily toward the freeride side. Other builds in the Parker line include a slopestyle jumper, 4X gate-racer setup (Parker III) and a 3-ring all-mountain ride (Parker I).

  • multi-link 7005 aluminum frame with oversize, gusseted headtube
  • Rock Shox Domain Fork, with travel adjust, 35mm stanchions, 20mm axle
  • dual front chainrings with bashguard
  • 31.8mm Syncros bar and stem
  • Hayes hydraulic disc brakes with 185mm front rotor

Jamis Kromo 2008Kromo

The Kromo is specifically designed for dirt jumping:

  • burly 4130 chromoly steel frame
  • SR Duro DJ-D 100mm fork
  • stout, 3-piece WheelPro cromoly cranks
  • tiny, heavily padded SDG I-Beam saddle
  • 31.8mm Syncros Bulk bar (Wiiiiiiide) and stem

  • Please look for us at the Laurel Point Parking Lot turn right when you reach the top of the mountain and follow the road around the lake and over the dam.

We especially like their new multi-pivot dual suspension designs… go for a spin on the best local trails and see why!
