Useful and beautiful…

The North American Handmade Bicycle Show is in full swing in my favorite town… Portland, OR.

Mike says the theme of this year’s NAHBS is “useful bikes” — that thought was on my mind today as I was ventilating an 8-Ball Stout with my new $2000 bottle opener. But really what’s most useful is a simple bike with a few gears, good brakes, lights, racks and fenders.

Y’all check out what’s really cool in bikes… something you can ride anywhere, anytime, and blow the doors off most of the lycra-clad wannabes astride their paper-light steeds. Learn to ride a bike in traffic and learn true freedom.

It’s cool to see all the young punks tooling around town on their fixies and bmxies. They are in it for transportation and for fun. And Please Remember: fenders, upright bars and flat pedals are where you started… and where you’re headed.

We are graced in Chattanooga with some of the finest handmakers of handmade boneshakers… Lynskey and Privateer. David and David can help you realize your ultimate reality bicycle.
