Mike & I frequently joke that we are holding out for the return of the 26″ Hardtail.

Well in Switzerland they never went away. I spent  Christmas in Basel & while there I went into every bike shop I passed.  Or tried to, as many were closed for the Holidays as were open.  The Bling bike in each shop was split between Road, TT & Mountain bikes.  If it was a Mountain Bike it was a really light really pricey 26 inch XC hardtail, never a FS bike.  Also you couldn’t find a 29er anywhere.

Oh & with the dollar down in the toilet the price in Swiss Franks is pretty much $6700, not cheap.

I wasn’t able to ride any of these Thömus bikes, but I was impressed with what I saw.  Small brand, as far as I know not available here in the States.  Can be found @
