SRAM’s Single-Ring Group – trail time aboard XX1

‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’.

That old adage makes a ton of sense in most cases. However, the point the coiner of that phrase failed to take into account is if you really can build something better than what currently exists, why not give it a rip? SRAM is pretty sure that, for more than a few riders, their new XX1 1×11 drivetrain is just such an advance.

The chain is specific to the system and mates perfectly with the custom shaped and sized teeth on the front chainring. While it looks a bit like a puzzle it works like mechanical duct tape.

2013 SRAM XX1 Family – 11 Speed + More

SRAM sent along some pictures along with a few details of thier new XX1 family of components.  Aimed at the 1x setup, this new family of components is aimed at enduro and xc riders.

SRAM’s details are still a bit cyrptic but a few details can be extrapolated from the details they’ve sent out.
